Disillusionment.
It’s a bad thing right?
You’re disillusioned with your job, your relationship, your life-choices.
Things have lost their sparkle.
That’s bad.
Right?
It would be much better to remain ‘illusion-ed’.
Right? .
It would be much better to fool yourself that the job, relationship, community you’ve settled for is ‘perfect’, though the evidence to the contrary is getting stronger every day – the sadness, distraction, unease, restlessness, the feeling you’re not living the life that’s possible for you……
It’s better to live in illusion that to be disillusioned.
Right?
Or wrong?
Perhaps disillusionment – soul-sickness – is an invitation.
Perhaps it’s evidence that the story you’re telling yourself no longer serves you.
Perhaps it’s prompting you to live a new story.
Disillusionment is not comfortable.
Reality isn’t always comfortable.
But it’s real.
If you’re soul-sick and yearning for something different, listen.
Listen beyond words.
There’s a small, fiercely-alive bird inside of you trying to escape the cage you’ve trapped it in.
It’s called life.
Hear its song and follow where it leads.
Listen to your disillusionment. It can show you a magnificent world beyond the limitations you’ve chosen to live within.
